About Tim Danahey

Finally, a councilman for all the voices of Parker

Philosophy

  • Government should be small, smart, and creative.
  • Community development guarantees economic development.

Community Development

  • The Town needs to reach out and have frequent communications with neighborhoods.
  • More citizens need to be involved with local government, especially budget and planning.
  • A recycling program needs to be implemented before the State mandates one.
  • HOAs should work with the Town to achieve joint savings and effectiveness
  • There are laws available to help prevent foreclosed properties from blighting our neighborhoods
  • The people of Parker need to know about the workings of their government
  • Developers must be accountable for the quality of their projects
  • The new library and arts will add vibrancy and prosperity to the Town
  • The chronic vacancy and blight at Cottonwood Square must never again be allowed in Parker
  • Shade trees are essential to the long-term vitality of our Town

Economic Development

  • An informed community will commit to the "Live Parker, Buy Parker" campaign.
  • The Town's purchasing procedures must be revised to assure Parker businesses participate.
  • Contracting procedures must be changed to give incentives for using Parker subcontractors and suppliers.
  • The professional employment base must be expanded to enhance the day and evening economies.
  • We need a top-flight independent bookstore as a business center catalyst.
  • The Cultural Facility needs to be a source of revenue for the Town rather than a cost burden.
  • A new business district should be formed to assure attractive development along Parker Road.
