About Tim Danahey
Finally, a councilman for all the voices of Parker
Where it all began
While serving on the Town of Parker's Planning Commission, a senior participant in the Town's planning process asked me when I'd be running for Town Council. I told him that I hadn't considered it but I was flattered by his suggestion. He said, "You really should consider running."
The next morning, a person with whom I served on the Council Compensation Committee called me and said, "Tim, have you ever considered running for Town Council?" Surprised, I asked if he talked to the person with whom I spoke the previous night. He said, "No. Why?" I said he was the second person in twelve hours to ask. He said, "I've worked with you and Parker needs you."
Theodore Roosevelt said that it is incumbent upon every man to serve his community. Sir Edmund Burke said, in principle, "(bad government) triumphs when good men stand by and do nothing." I believe these statements so I discussed my candidacy with my wife and made the commitment to run for office.
Now I am honored to have many experienced long-time Parker residents, business owners, neighbors, and friends helping to make me Parker's new Town Council member. The integrity, quality, intelligence, and sheer numbers of volunteers astounds me.
I am honored by their help and look forward to their friendships and professional thoughts in the years to come. Thanks to all of you.
